Australian non-binary author J-L Heylen has always been a late bloomer. They took to fiction writing in their mid-40s and have since written and published 8 books. J-L is unapologetically a feminist, lefty, queer, who peppers their books with characters that readers don’t get to see very often.

I am proud to live and write on Dharug and Gundungurra lands. I acknowledge and pay my respect to the traditional custodians of these lands, and their elders past, present and emerging. I recognise that this land was never ceded. I extend my respect to all Indigenous and First Nations people who read my work.
